Ground mounted 3 inches above ground on 4-ft 1-1/4 inch i.d. water pipe with 20 radials to start. The vertical ended up with 32 radials: 16 on 40; 8 on 20; 4 on 15; and 4 on 10. |

10 turns RG8 6-inch i.d. rf choke. There is another similar choke 6 inches from the transmitter. Other and clear side of U-bolt for more radials. |

The reconditioned HyGain 14AVQ with original 20 radials pinned down and invisible under the grass with homemade staples in the beautiful High Chaparral area of Wells VT, 1,110 ft ASL. Initial test of vertical (from log) below. It works.
